Email: Kay Bradner I paint on aluminum using techniques influenced by my printmaking background. I begin the painting with a loose under layer that is much like a monotype before it is printed. The lines are scored into the surface with a craft knife raising a drypoint-like burr. I ink this burr like I am wiping an intaglio print. I use stecils to define crisp shapes. I use scraping and traditional brush painting to unify the lines and background by sculpting with light.
