CONCEPT:
In this work wild strokes and impulses in vibrant colors combine with an obvious traditional symbol of sex, power and pain. An alternative title might be “In Case Of A Tropical Angst Emergency, Open The Box, Take Out The Red Shoes, Put Them On, And Dance.”

CONTEXT:
This work represents a reincarnation of past images found in my art slammed together with spontaneous combustion thereby creating a piece of intricate symbolism. It is an understatement of the obvious in a complex yet personal way. As Albert Einstein once said “The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious”. Do the red high heels belong to a modern Madam Pele? Is that blood, tears, or fire? Through this work I am accepting the stream of my deep tropical impulses as well as using current cultural icons.

OF INTEREST: Pele is the ancient Hawaiian mythological goddess of fire, lightening, dance, and volcanos.
